Francesca Magali is a Pittsburgh, PA based designer + illustrator.
Francesca's characters live in advanced, yet a challenging, technological landscape. Her inspirations derive from Y2k and Millennium Futurism movements; cyber-inspired glossy visions and designs from the late 90s to early 2000s that resembled the utopia that was predicted to come at the turn of the new millennium. Francesca primarily works in black + white across digital and traditional tools such as fountain pens, dry-transfer lettering and screentones.
She had her first solo show, >CYBERIA, in 2023.
She is dedicated to establishing her personal body work encapsulating illustrations, characters, narratives, animations, zines, and more. One of her latest projects she is working on, VANCE SUBPRIME, a 32-page one-shot comic, based in the Half-Life universe.
